Surfrider Clean-up in Munich’s English Garden – supported by Aloha Coffee
Share
On August 24th, 2025, a very special event took place in the English Garden in Munich: the Munich Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation organized a clean-up around the famous Eisbach wave, supported by Aloha Coffee and a dedicated group of volunteers.
On this summer day, a total of 10 participants – plus spontaneous passersby who joined in – rolled up their sleeves to clean the area around the Eisbach wave. The results speak for themselves:
- 527 Cigarette butts
- 560 bottle caps
- 1 full bag of plastic waste
- 3 full bags of paper waste & clothing
- 2 knives, 6 lighters, 4 e-cigarettes
- Coins, shoes – and even 2 rings
A powerful outcome that shows not only the scale of the problem, but also the strength of a community when people take action together.
The Eisbach – home for surfers & community
The Eisbach in Munich’s English Garden is much more than just a river – it’s a world-renowned spot for Eisbach surfing and a true home for the local and international surf community. That’s why this clean-up carried a special meaning: giving back to the place that gives so much to surfers every single day.
What made it even more special was seeing how many people stopped, cheered, or even spontaneously joined the effort. A true sign of community spirit in action. 💙
